4 years ago today everything changed. 4 years ago this morning, at barely 5am, I woke up and took my temp to record on my chart, like every other morning. And 4 years ago today, I looked at the temperature, saw it went up, and went into the bathroom to take a pregnancy test, being that I was already a few days late.
I took the test, Brian and I waited excitedly for the 3 minutes to pass. At 3 minutes, 0.000001 seconds we looked at the results and…. negative.
I threw the test in the garbage, so disappointed. I was late! It had already been a few months (wah wah, I know) and I was so excited for a minute there. I wandered back into our bedroom to be comforted by Brian for a few minutes, then went back into the bathroom and (gross) pulled the test out of the garbage to mourn and pout over it a little bit longer.
That’s when I saw it. The test looked negative, but when I held it up in the light, I noticed that the test was in fact NOT negative. It was positive!
I ran back into the bedroom and practically threw the thing in Brian’s face. A few hours later, I took another and sure enough, positive!
4 years ago, today, I first got a tiny glimpse of the amazing baby that would grow into my very special Becca girl.
